Roythornes grows family law specialism with new recruit

The Nottingham office of top 150 law firm Roythornes Solicitors has welcomed a new senior associate to boost its family team. 

Layla Babadi has joined the firm bringing years of specialist experience working on family law issues including divorce, separation and issues involving children following the breakdown of a marriage.

Having previously worked for Nelsons Solicitors for several years, Layla has built up a large client base in Derby and is looking forward to a new challenge in her current home city of Nottingham.  

She has a particular expertise in handling issues within the Asian community, international divorces, Islamic marriages, and dowry advice.  

Layla said:

“Over the years I have developed an interest in international law, specifically dealing with marriages abroad, asset management and how complex divorces are dealt with in the UK.  

“I tend to deal with larger high net worth cases but as the majority of my work comes from personal referrals, I am always able to offer support to the people who seek me out because I want to ensure everyone gets the best advice possible.”

Layla has held the top spot in the family law category in Derby on the Three Best Rated review website for several years and hopes to do the same for Nottingham with her move to Roythornes.

She added:

“It’s an exciting time to join the firm as I have the opportunity to develop and shape the family law team in Nottingham, and really carve out a niche in the county and wider region. I am keen to help the firm with its ambitious growth plans and hope my specialist experience will help realise those goals.”  

Roythornes’ legal team specialises in all areas of family law, including divorce and financial proceedings, issues affecting children, pre-and post-nuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements and claims involving trust assets and inheritance.
