THREE IS THE MAGIC NUMBER – VIRIDIS ADDS TRIO OF TALENT

Leading sustainable building services firm Viridis has strengthened its team in the East Midlands with a trio of new hires.

The passive environmental experts have added Juan Muro, Sophie Sleight and Matt Bartlett as environmental design engineer, design engineer and environmental design technician respectively.

Juan – who started his career in his native Mexico before moving to the UK to complete a masters in Renewable Energy and Architecture at the University of Nottingham – will help deliver low and zero energy designs for the firm’s customers, analyse proposed materials and energy generation technologies to help them reduce their carbon footprint.

Juan said:

“I was attracted to working at Viridis by the creativity of its solutions and the vision that the team has for achieving net zero in the projects we work on. I’m excited to be working on local and regional projects where can get in as early as possible to suggest most suitable and efficient options for our clients.”

Sophie joins the team straight from her studies at the University of Lincoln, where she graduated with a degree in Interior Architecture and Design. Her role will see her developing innovative and creative solutions with a focus on sustainability.

Sophie said:

“My background gives me the approach of considering solutions from a different perspective within the practice, with a view for getting a creative solution to problems that ensure the services don’t impact the aesthetics of the interior of the building. I’m excited to work with a variety of people with different skills and backgrounds in an environment where we can combine our skills to enhance a project and work to all our strengths as a team”

A keen cyclist, Matt will be building on his experience as a project manager for temporary structures in the events industry to Viridis, where he will be working on a variety of projects, including churches, property developments and educational facilities.

Matt said:

“Viridis has a great team, and the variety of work is really appealing. Working here gives me the ability to be creative when designing solutions, and its approach to sustainability really sets it apart from its competitors across the industry."

Lee Marshall, managing director at Viridis, said:

“We’re delighted to welcome these three exciting new hires to the team. At Viridis, we are committed to nurturing talent and developing our team as we look to address the challenges of building a more sustainable future for our clients.”
