M-EC Appoints New Head of Geomatics Team

M-EC, one of the UK’s leading consulting development engineers, has appointed Matthew Lee as Survey Manger. Matthew will head up the firm’s Geomatics team at its Leicestershire head office, further developing the department to meet continued demand from clients including some of the UK’s most well-known housebuilders.

Matthew is a veteran of the industry and joins M-EC with over 30 years’ experience in managing projects across the globe in the mining, civil engineering and the oil and gas industries. He has a wealth of experience managing interesting survey projects, including measured building surveys of historic buildings, large topographical surveys for rail and road development, surface and underground mining development, tunneling projects and oil field development.

A member of CICES, Matthew is well versed in managing multiple teams of surveyors and site engineers. He excels in ensuring projects are developed safely and to a high industry standard.

Commenting on his new role, Matthew said:

“It is an exciting time to be joining the M-EC team and I am looking forward to really shaping the future of the department as the industry gets back up and running again following the pandemic.

“There are many opportunities for the geomatics team and new client projects already underway. We have seen an uptake in work since the relaxation of Covid-19 restrictions and have recently secured numerous projects with various developers and a large scale pipeline project with Anglian Water so I am confident about the future growth of the department and the value we will bring to our clients.”

Alex Bennett, Director of M-EC said:

“We are extremely pleased to have Matthew on board and to add his expertise to the team. He is well respected within the industry and has vast experience that we know will hugely benefit our expanding client base and be instrumental in developing the future of the department both in terms of its capability and personnel.”
