Welcome, James! Axses Systems appoints new marketing executive to its Derbyshire team

Axess Systems, which is based on the Denby Hall Business Park, has appointed University of Derby graduate James Walker as its marketing executive. The 23-year-old becomes Axess Systems’ fifth new appointment in less than 12 months, joining Mike Smith, Ian Dickerson, Josh Young and Greg Cork.

James has previously worked as a marketing intern with Derby charity Safe & Sound. He achieved a first-class honours in his undergraduate degree and a distinction in a marketing management post-graduate course, also previously worked for an engineering firm, but this was curtailed due to the pandemic.

James, a Derby County supporter, said:

“I’m looking forward to working with Axess Systems at an exciting time of growth for the business. IT is a sector which, at the moment, is very much needed.

“The past 12 months for me, personally, have been a challenge as, due to coronavirus, I’ve had to cut short an internship and, since August, have been unemployed.

“But the skills I have learned during my time at the University of Derby are transferrable into my new role and I cannot wait to get stuck in.”

Marketing Director Heath Roberts said: “We are very fortunate to have secured the services of someone with such great credentials at James and I’m certain that he’ll be a great asset to Axess Systems.”

Founded by managing director Ed Morton 20 years ago, the award-winning Axess Systems employs 20 people at its head office in Denby and has a regional office in Southampton.

Axess specialise in providing IT leaders with services for virtualisation and digital infrastructure and recently became one of only a handful of businesses in the country enrolled on to the Citrix Customer Success Management programme.

They work across various sectors in the UK, including aerospace, automotive, building and construction, education and NHS Trusts and, in addition to providing IT consultancy and support services, Axess Systems also provide managed cloud services which enable IT leaders to move or add to their digital infrastructure.
