LEICESTER MARKETING APPRENTICE NAMED RUNNER-UP IN NATIONAL AWARDS

Soar Valley Press' Digital Marketing Apprentice, Pippa Culverwell, has been named the runner-up in the Association of Colleges' Student of The Year Awards.

Pippa, who completed her apprenticeship with North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College, is the only marketer employed by Leicestershire-based design and print company, Soar Valley Press.

Working across various areas of marketing, Pippa has progressed rapidly and managed to achieve an eight-fold increase in traffic to her employer's website. Soar Valley Press specialises in making design and print a simple process for their clients and it's through creating helpful blogs, guides and social media content that Pippa has assisted in delivering this vision.

Whilst working remotely, she has also gained several different qualifications including a Level 4 CIM Award in Digital Marketing and a Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of Coding. Pippa also won the East Midlands Chamber 'Apprentice of the Year' award in November 2020. After finishing her apprenticeship in December, and gaining a Distinction, Pippa has now been employed as a Marketing Coordinator, leading on marketing for Soar Valley Press.

Her hard work was recognised as she took the runner-up place in the national awards. The awards were announced on the 24th February 2021 during the Association of Colleges' 'Colleges Live' Student Conference. The judging panel was made up of members of the AoC Charitable Trust Board, the AoC President and the AoC Deputy Chief of Executive-Member Services. The judges were thoroughly impressed by the high standard of entries and success achieved by the students.

Managing Director at Soar Valley Press, Chris Goodman, said,

“We’re proud of Pippa who has performed brilliantly since she joined us. It’s fantastic that she’s been recognised by the Association of Colleges in this way. I gave her a really wide range of tasks to work on and she has developed new strategies and seen some great results from the campaigns she has put together for us. We look forward to seeing her develop further in her future career.”
