Mather Jamie Announce four senior promotions

Specialist land development and property consultancy Mather Jamie has announced four new senior promotions.

 

Gary Owens and Amy Biddell have been promoted to Director, Gary Kirk to Senior Associate Director and Hamish Byers promoted to Associate Director.

The promotions take effect from 1 February 2021 and are part of the firms long standing ethos based on delivering a Director led service to clients which include land owners, and residential and commercial property developers.

Originally from a house building background, Gary Owens joined the practice in 2019 from Harworth Group Plc, where he sat on the executive board. He specialises in residential and commercial land agency, strategic land advisory and land evaluation.

Commenting on his promotion to Director, Gary said,

“I have really enjoyed working at Mather Jamie and have relished the opportunity to support existing and new clients on their land development requirements. As a small, privately owned practice, which promotes entrepreneurial flair and supports it employees to flourish, I have very much found my niche I am really looking forward to a long and fruitful career and helping to strengthen our reputation for providing market leading advice to our growing client base.”

Amy Biddell, who joined the firm in 2010, specialises in estate management and rural land and property matters. She is also one of the firm’s principle agricultural Valuers and was shortlisted for RICS Matrics Young Surveyor of the Year in 2016 and 2018.

Amy commented,

Hamish Byers started his career in traditional estate management before joining Mather Jamie in 2015. He currently acts for a number of estate clients such as Prestwold Hall and has successfully helped many clients to diversify in order to deliver additional revenue streams. Hamish now also advises on strategic land development, renewable energy solutions and electricity storage PROJECTS.

Gary Kirk first joined Mather Jamie in 2008 as a placement student. He has steadily worked his way up the ranks, qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor in 2012 and was appointed as an Associate Director in 2016. Gary is regularly involved in a range of rural property matters including estate management, landlord and tenant and compensation and compulsory purchase. Gary is also actively involved in working up, marketing and disposing of a large number of residential development sites throughout the East Midlands and further afield.

Commenting on the promotions, Mather Jamie Managing Director, Robert Cole added,

Based on Weldon Road in Loughborough, Mather Jamie was founded in 1991 and employs a team of 30 chartered surveyors, valuers and support staff. The practice has four specialist divisions focused on buying and selling development land, selling and acquiring commercial and agricultural property and land, and country estate management which also involves the letting of residential properties within the portfolio.
