Cyber security ambassador joins IoD East Midlands

The Institute of Directors has appointed a cyber security expert to its East Midlands team.

Paul Burrows, chief executive of Lincoln-based KryptoKloud, becomes regional ambassador for cyber security.

Paul has an extensive cyber and intelligence background gained in the military, private and public sectors.

He left the Armed Forces in 2004 to start his own company, Abacus EW, which was acquired in 2010. He launched KryptoKloud in 2016 with his wife Allison, and the business now has more than 25 members of staff, offering 24/7 security operations for businesses and organisations across the world.

Paul said:

“The IoD is a fantastic place to connect with fellow directors, share ideas, add value and hone your own business strategy. As an ambassador, I want to increase awareness of cyber issues and provide information to all types of businesses and organisations.”

The IoD is the UK’s number one organisation for directors, providing support, events, professional development and a lobbying voice for all types of business.  As an ambassador, Paul will support IoD members to connect, develop professionally and influence policy and decision-makers at the highest levels.

Gary Headland, IoD East Midlands chair, said:

“I am delighted to welcome Paul to our team. Cyber security is a critical issue for all organisations as we become ever more reliant on the fast-moving world of data and technology. His expertise will be invaluable as we look ahead to a positive year of recovery and growth for regional business.”
