Armsons Appoints New Director

Derby-based project managers and construction cost consultants Armsons have boosted their management and leadership team with the appointment of Josh Toon as director.

Josh joined Armsons in 2011 as a trainee quantity surveyor, while he was studying for a five-year part-time degree in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management at Nottingham Trent University.

In 2017, he left the firm before re-joining in 2019 to take up the post of associate director.

During his time at Armsons, Josh has been involved in a number of high-profile projects including the recently completed brewery at Fairhill, Bedford for pub company Wells & Co, together with various housing schemes for Wise Living.

In his new role, Josh will join fellow directors Stephen Fernie, Sally Walters, and Jonathan Heath to deliver a diverse range of project management, employer’s agent, quantity surveying, building surveying and cost management services to both private and public sector clients.

Commenting on his new role, Josh said:

“I’m excited to be appointed a director at Armsons, especially having joined the firm as a trainee quantity surveyor nearly a decade ago!

“Stephen, Sally and Jonathan have been extremely supportive during my transition to become a director and working alongside them for the past couple of years has prepared me for this new role.

“I look forward to taking on additional responsibility and contributing my skills and knowledge to add value to the firm’s service offering.”

Sally Walters, director of Armsons added:

“We’re delighted to welcome Josh to the management and leadership team at Armsons following almost two years as an associate director. This appointment reflects the significant contribution that Josh has made to the firm since he returned to us in 2019.

“Over the past five decades, Armsons has established a reputation for recruiting people with extensive experience in their respective areas, who come together to share their skills and knowledge.

“This team-based approach is one of our strengths and enables us to provide clients with a consistently first-class service and achieve the most cost-effective delivery of their project objectives.”

Armsons was established in 1972 to offer specialist quantity surveying expertise to private and public sector clients across the region.

The company continues to grow while adapting to the every-changing needs of the industry and now delivers a range of core services, including project management, employer’s agent, construction cost management and building surveying, to a diverse client base across a broad spectrum of sectors - including commercial, industrial, infrastructure, residential, healthcare, retail, sports and leisure, education, and heritage.
