The Sky’s the Limit after securing CAA Permission for Commercial Drone

Chocolate Cake Media can literally add a new perspective to video shoots now that it has Civil Aviation Authority permission to fly the company drone commercially.

Videographer Matt Lepora gained his remote pilot ‘wings’ after passing theory and flight tests to demonstrate his competence. He was also required to create an Operations Manual outlining the basic procedures for conducting flights on behalf of clients.

Managing Director Scott Benzie said:

“Congratulations to Matt for completing this training and achieving the CAA permission for Chocolate Cake Media. It’s great news. Navigating the COVID pandemic has inspired us to look for new ways to enhance the service we offer our clients. Putting Matt through the drone training was also a way I could show my commitment to staff development during these challenging times.”

With Matt’s new skills, and the CAA certificate, the video production agency will be using their drone-mounted camera to offer clients the opportunity to incorporate aerial photographs and video to projects. This may be to show a birds-eye perspective of a workplace and its location or to add impact by filming action scenes from the air. The possibilities are endless.
