Leicestershire Business Voice appoints Robin Pointon as new Chair

Leicestershire Business Voice (LBV), the voice for local businesses, has appointed Robin Pointon as its new Chair. Robin steps up from his previous position as Vice-Chair of LBV and is also Managing Director of Leicester-based specialist sustainable transport consultancy, Go Travel Solutions.

Robin will oversee a board of six other directors, responsible for providing LBV members with a regular programme of stimulating business-themed webinars, events and debates. LBV also offers an independent and collective voice to represent the local business community through engagements with other key local stakeholders, the public sector and regional bodies.

Robin, originally from Bradford in Yorkshire, has lived in Leicester since 1985. In that time, he has worked for Arriva, Leicestershire County Council and Leicestershire Promotions. In 2008, he set up his own business and social enterprise, Go Travel Solutions. Robin joined the board of LBV in 2015.

Robin Pointon, Chair of LBV said:

“I’m delighted to represent members and my fellow board directors as the new Chair of LBV. These are certainly challenging times for all businesses in and around the city, and it’s vital that we continue to ensure our offer to members is relevant and beneficial to their growth and development.

“We’re currently surveying our members and some non-members, to get their feedback on how the organisation can evolve to meet the changing needs of the business world in which we’re now living. I am confident that LBV will continue to provide a strong platform for amplifying the voice of the Leicester business community.”

About LBV:

LBV is a non-profit making organisation, sitting at the heart of the Leicestershire business community. LBV was created 19 years ago by business professionals within the city and county who recognised a need for a focal point where the experience and expertise of business people could be used for the benefit of the business and local community.

LBV includes organisations of all sizes and across all sectors, and high on the LBV agenda is helping local businesses to thrive so it works with key decision makers to stimulate debate, raise areas of concern and shape policy affecting businesses by working with local and regional decision makers to shape and influence policy affecting the local economy.

LBV is led by a Board of Directors, who on behalf of the membership, are responsible for establishing the overall strategic direction of the business.
