Fellowship for Nottingham Financial Adviser

Fellowship for Nottingham Financial Adviser

A Nottingham based Chartered Financial Planner has achieved Fellowship of the Personal Finance Society (PFS) having successfully passed all his required professional exams.

Fellowship of the Personal Finance Society is the highest qualification that can be achieved in the personal finance industry.

Jonathan Nicholls, who works for The RU Group, a leading firm of financial advisers and wealth management specialists headquartered at the ng2 Business Park, is now the fifth member of the Group to achieve this qualification.

Jonathan, who advises clients on all areas of financial planning and specializes in pensions and investments, has already achieved Chartered status and holds a Diploma in Financial Planning. Successfully achieving a Fellowship to the PFS is a huge achievement and a significant milestone in Jonathan’s career.

Jonathan comments:

“As anyone who undertakes continuous professional development will know, it’s always interesting to balance the requirements of your day job, home life and revising for exams, and I am therefore proud to have become a Fellow of the PFS. Developing myself professionally is important as it enables me to deliver the best results and high-quality advice for my longstanding clients across Nottinghamshire and the East Midlands.”

Ian Browne, Head of Advice at The RU Group comments:

“Becoming a Fellow of the PFS is status that only a small percentage of financial advisers achieve, and I would like to congratulate Jonathan on his success. To achieve Chartered status and become a ‘Chartered Financial Planner’ requires 290 points, but to achieve fellowship requires 350 points, which is another 4 exams, so Jonathan has done exceptionally well to have balanced the requirements of his day job with studying for his exams.”

Jonathan’s achievement is the latest in a series of successes for The RU Group. The company has a well-established ‘Culture of Learning’ and encourages all staff to undergo continuous professional development. The Group believes that having an adviser workforce qualified to the highest standards is essential for the delivery of optimum results for our clients. This commitment to professional excellence has led to Russell Ulyatt Financial Services, the firm at the heart of The RU Group, achieving Chartered Status for the fourth year in a row.

Ian Browne adds:

“Our ‘Culture of Learning’ is something that is highly valued by our staff as they know that we are investing in them and supporting their further professional development and their careers. In an increasingly complex advice market, it is essential to have an adviser force qualified to the highest standards in order to help deliver the best advice to our clients.  We place the needs of the clients at the heart of the business and this, coupled with our focus on continuing professional development, is key to the provision of the financial advice they need in order to achieve their life goals.”

The RU Group comprises Russell Ulyatt Financial Services, Greenhalgh Financial Services, Hart Shaw Financial Planning and Shevill Parkes Financial Services. The company has roots in financial advice dating back over 135 years, currently employs over 60 people at its offices in Nottingham, Derby and Sheffield and manages over £500 million of funds on behalf of its clients.

The firm has been named in leading industry publication New Model Adviser’s ‘Top 100 Firms’ and is listed as one of Advisory HQ’s Top 11 ‘Best Independent Financial Advisers’ in the UK.
