Koobr calls for businesses to back me&dee Charity

me&dee Charity has announced the appointment of a new member to its Board of Trustees.

Craig Barker, managing director of Koobr, a creative agency based on Friar Gate in Derby, joins the board following many years of support and involvement.

Koobr has long supported the charity and became a Platinum Sponsor last year. To further this, the agency is increasing its support and is also becoming the charity’s first ever Diamond Sponsor.

Craig commented:

We’ve been an avid supporter of Maria and the charity for many years, and as we’ve grown as a business, we’ve made sure that our support of the charity has too.”

I’m going to do all that I can to encourage other businesses to consider ways that they can become involved in the charity – packages start from as little as £20 a month so it really is easy to get involved. me&dee Charity was founded by Maria Hanson MBE in 2006. It supports families and children facing uncertain and life-limiting circumstances, providing special holidays to create memories and make the most of the precious time they have left together. Last year, the charity launched its 20/20 vision fundraising campaign, aiming to raise £150,000 to purchase a new purpose-built lodge in the Sherwood Forest for the families it supports. To contribute, people can purchase “squares” which range in price from £50 to £200.

“Having known Craig for nine years, and recognised through his support to my charity his ethos, empathy and passion, along with the knowledge gained of how he runs his business through this time, I felt that he had a perfect fit for our vacant trustee role. We will benefit from his wide experience and good standing in the business community, and the opportunities that he can offer as part of our team."

In 2019, Koobr worked with me&dee to refresh its brand identity, helping to align the brand with its core founding principles upon which the charity was founded. This involved the creation of a new website, logo and brand assets.

Next month, a team from Koobr will be taking to the streets of Derby to run the Derby 10k, with all funds raised going to me&dee.
