Peveril Homes takes home a double crown at this year’s LABC East Midlands Building Excellence Awards

Woodcroft, Moira, named as Best High Volume New Housing Development while Ivan Cooke wins the prestigious Site Manager Award

Peveril Homes successfully secured two awards at Friday night’s prestigious LABC East Midlands Awards. The winning entries came from its Woodcroft Development in Moira which was named Best High Volume New Housing Development while site manager Ivan Cooke scooped the Site Manager award for The Paddocks development in Packington, Leicestershire.

The Local Authority Building Control (LABC) network is the largest building control provider in England and Wales and the LABC Building Excellence Awards celebrate and recognise well-built, unique and exceptionally designed properties, precise specification and highly-skilled construction.

The LABC East Midlands Building Excellence Awards took place on Friday 6th July at the Athena in Leicester, and were hosted by well known television presenter, Nicki Chapman.

The Best High Volume New Housing Development award specifically recognises new private housing sites for their “response to site constraints, external appearance and internal planning, layout grouping and landscaping and attention to safety, security and accessibility”. The Site Manager Award looks for outstanding contributions of site managers “for their vision for quality in construction.”

Peveril’s Woodcroft development in the village of Moira, situated on the border of Derbyshire and Leicestershire and nestled within the beautiful National Forest, has achieved strong sales since it launched in 2017 and is one of the company’s flagship sites.

This is also the third consecutive year that Peveril has won the Site Manager award after Adam Pinder won the title in both 2016 and 2017.

Speaking about the two award wins, Construction Director Colin Wright was understandably thrilled and sees this as deserved recognition for the hard work Peveril puts into its developments -

“At Peveril Homes we are all about building high-quality homes to the latest industry standards, and all this must be achieved whilst fully complying to health and safety regulations.”

He continued, “Woodcroft is a beautiful development in a stunning East Midlands location, with a range of homes to suit different buyers - so it is very fulfilling to see it named as the Best High Volume New Housing Development.”

He added, “I would also like to extend a big congratulations to Ivan Cooke for being named Site Manager of the Year. His sites are always clean, safe and operate like clockwork. He understands the high standards we expect at Peveril and continually meets and exceeds them in every aspect of his work.”

Ivan is delighted to have won the award and admits he never imagined he would be named as the winner when the nominations were made -

“It is fantastic to win this award, and completely unexpected!” said Ivan.

“When I come to work, I never think about receiving any kind of recognition for my efforts, I just want to do a great job for a reputable local house builder. I am honoured to have won the Site Manager Award and would like to thank the outstanding team I have working with me on site every day for their hard work and dedication.”

Both Ivan and Woodcroft automatically qualify for the prestigious Grand Finals to compete for the national title on the 9th November at the Westminster Park Plaza in London.
