Love Business launch for Chamber’s annual quest for crème de la crème of commerce

Love Business launch for Chamber’s annual quest for crème de la crème of commerce

The region’s only pure business awards will be formally launched at next month’s Love Business Expo.

East Midlands Chamber, the headline sponsor, will use its presence at the biggest free business networking event in the region to launch its 2017 quest to find the crème de la crème of local commerce.

Only the Chamber’s awards offer winners a chance to compete in regional and national heats of the British Chambers of Commerce Awards.

Last year, East Midlands Chamber scooped the Excellence in International Trade Award from the British Chambers of Commerce.

Six Chamber members, each of them winners in the East Midlands Chamber Business Awards and regional winners of BCC Awards, were shortlisted for national accolades: Trent Academies Group for Education and Business Partnership, Hayles Leicester for Commitment to People, Cathelco for Export Business of the Year, Purpose Media for High Growth Business of the Year, Shakespeare Martineau for Excellence in Customer Service and Penny Hydraulics for Best Use of Technology.

The Chamber will host three of the six zones at this year’s Love Business Expo, which is expected to attract thousands of visitors and hundreds of exhibitors and takes place at Donington Park, Castle Donington, from 9am on 16 February.

The three zones sponsored by the Chamber are Innovation, Technology & Sustainability, Manufacturing & Engineering and Transport & Logistics.

Scott Knowles, the Chamber’s Chief Executive, said: “This will be the sixth year that the Chamber has been involved with Love Business, and the third year that we will be the headline sponsor.

“Being at the heart of a major business networking, amid hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of delegates, seemed to be the perfect place to launch our Business Awards for 2017.

“You can’t overestimate the value of events like Love Business for their networking potential and for keeping abreast of latest innovations and the Chamber is proud of its long association with Love Business, which has established itself as the region’s premier free business expo.”

Steve Megson, Managing Director of Quiet Storm, one of the founders of Love Business, said: “Both the location, Donington Park, and the objectives of Love Business are a perfect fit for the Chamber.

“It's an exciting time for the region and with the continued support of key organisations we expect Love Business 2017 to be the best yet.”
