MCS MD Named Director Of The Year

Rebecca Muldoon, managing director of Nottingham-based event production company Midland Conference Services, has been named Director of the Year at the Midlands Family Business Awards.

L-R: Charlotte Perkins, MD of Wilson Organisation, Rebecca Muldoon, managing director of Midlands Conference Services and Graham Pelling from category sponsor, Flame UK

Rebecca took over the business from her father Pete Wyles in January 2014. Since then, she has been the driving force behind an impressive programme of growth which has seen the company triple its workforce, increase turnover to £1.2m and expand into new premises in the city.  Rebecca has also overseen a brand refresh, significant investment in new technology and a focus on the company’s charity and fundraising programme.

MCS offers clients full event support including technical production, creative & graphic design, set & stage design, event technology and filming for live events.  Clients include iconic brands such as E.ON, Wilko, Countrywide and Nikon.

Commenting on the award, Rebecca says:

“I am very lucky to have a fantastic team behind me who have helped me to realise my vision for MCS. To be recognised in the Family Business Awards means so much to me. MCS has been a family business for nearly 30 years and retaining our culture as we grow is extremely important.

“I am really excited about the future of the business. The investment we have made in our people, our facilities and the development of a unique full-service offering to clients provides us with a great foundation for continued growth.”

Now in its seventh year, The Midlands Family Business Awards are organised by Nottingham third generation family business, The Wilson Organisation. They are the only independent, not-for-profit initiative to recognise and celebrate the achievements of family businesses in the region.
