Leicestershire’s Town and Country Petfoods has helped give animal rescue centres a boost with a donation of thousands of dog treats.

The family-run firm, which is based in Melton Mowbray, teamed up with Rooke’s Pet Products in Spalding to donate more than over 4,500 packs of its Pets Pantry Real Meat Treats to dog shelters around Lincolnshire.

Antoon Jansen, sector sales manager at Town and Country Petfoods, said:

“We have been supplying our products to Rookes for many years and know that they work closely with local animal charities.

“Shelters like these rely on donations of food but they do not always receive treats. We wanted to provide something the dogs would enjoy alongside their regular meals.”

Simon Cowling, manager at Rookes, added:

“All the rescue centres were really pleased with the donation. Treats are a real luxury for dogs living in shelters so we know they’ll go down well.”

Earlier this year, Town and Country Petfoods was crowned Business of the Year at the Melton Times Business Awards and was a runner-up at the Leicester Mercury Business Awards. It was also named one of the London Stock Exchange’s most inspiring businesses.
