Accountants run for charity 10k race in Loughborough

Eight employees from Newby Castleman Chartered Accountants, put on their running shoes recently and took to the streets of Loughborough to compete in the town’s inaugural 10k race for local charity, Home-Start Charnwood.

After months of training, staff members from the Loughborough and Leicester offices braved the chilly weather conditions and took part in the 6.2 mile run on Sunday 22^nd November.

The course started and finished at Market Place and covered a route around Loughborough and the University grounds.

The Loughborough team featured Partners, Annalise Lovett and David Hastings, as well as Amy Read, Aaron Hallam and Ashley Savage. Running for the Leicester team was Sam Faux, Andy Cowperthwaite and Rebecca Chandler.

Newby Castleman sponsored the event and this helped Home-Start to fund various race costs for the day such as water, first aiders and goodie bags.

Thanks to the event and everyone who participated, £5,000 has been raised so far for Home-Start, which is much needed after the charity lost all of their statutory funding.

“We have trained hard to step up our distances for the race, so we were pleased to learn that we had all beaten our personal training times."
