Thirteen Shortlisted for Awards to Mark Enterprise Agency's 20th Anniversary

The finalists in the special business awards being held to mark the 20th anniversary of enterprise agency Erewash Partnership have been announced.

Judges have whittled entries from almost 30 organisations down to 13 for five main categories – manufacturing excellence, small business, innovation, community commitment, and investment in education and training.

The 13 are Atlas Composites, Bluebell Dairy, Community Concern Erewash, FC Laser, Harlequin BPI, Home-Start, Incite Interiors, Marriott Breadsall Priory hotel and countryclub, Ron Brooks, TecQuipment, Treetops Hospice, Trent Lock Golf & Country Club, Upskill Assessment & Training.

A sixth award, The Geoffrey Nicholls Award for Outstanding Achievement, named after a former partnership chairman, will go to one of the entrants in the other classes.

The awards will be presented at a glittering ceremony and dinner to be held at Trent College, Long Eaton, on Friday October 17.  They will be handed over by entrepreneur and businesswoman Saira Khan who was born in the town.

Saira shot to fame as runner-up on the first series of television programme The Apprentice in 2005 and is a co-presenter of The Martin Lewis Money Show.

Partnership chief executive Ian Viles said: “The judges were very impressed with the quality of all the applications received – the standard of entries was extremely high.  A lot of time and effort was put into the difficult task of selecting the finalists in each category.

“These awards will show that enterprise is very much alive and kicking in this area and is rightly recognised.”
