Derbyshire home staging entrepreneur scoops National Business Woman award for spearheading substantial growth

A female East Midlands entrepreneur who has carved out her own niche in property home staging has received national recognition for her foresight and entrepreneurship at this year’s edition of the prestigious National Business Women’s Awards.

Elaine Penhaul, founder and owner of national home staging company Lemon and Lime Interiors, was crowned National Business Woman of the Year in the award’s microbusiness category. The grand ceremony in London brought inspiring businesswomen together in celebration of their industrious, hardworking and enterprising achievements.

Judges were impressed by the way Elaine rapidly transformed working practices during the pandemic – turning to digital and virtual methods to continue Lemon and Lime’s offering and business growth.

Elaine said:

“To be recognised on a national level as a successful female businessowner is a tremendous honour. This accolade is a testament to the phenomenal work of our Lemon and Lime team and the enhancements we have made over the past year to our business offerings while continuing to deliver stunning property transformations.”

The judges were wowed by Elaine’s proactivity to digitalise and diversify the business’ home staging services during lockdown, including the rollout of a virtual staging service, a digital scorecard and the industry’s first data-driven staging app, Stageflow.

They were also impressed with how Elaine has since hybridised these offerings alongside its existing physical services, enabling the business to substantially grow and attract a wider scope of premium estate agents, developers and vendors across the country.

As well as a forward-thinking businesswoman, Elaine is best-selling author of Sell High, Sell Fast: How to sell your home for the best possible price, in the quickest possible time. Elaine has always believed that home staging isn’t just a ‘good to have,’ but it is an essential part of selling a property in order to achieve the best possible price.

Elaine added:

“As a proud businesswoman and educator who is spearheading the emergence and acceptance of the UK’s home staging industry to the wider property sector, it has been a fantastic experience to have grown Lemon and Lime into the leading national firm that it currently is today.

“I hope that my achievements can empower other strong female business owners to drive innovation in sectors that are in desperate need of a revolution, resonate with modern consumers and address challenges that existing services cannot.”

Elaine is planning a number of new initiatives and services for 2022.
