Sorted Communications CEO to be panellist at Inside Government conference

Sorted Communications CEO Ali Marsland will take part in an expert panel discussion on remote working at Inside Government’s ‘The Future of Work in the Covid-19 Era Conference’ on Wednesday 17th March.

Nottingham-based Ali set up Sorted Communications in 2013 to provide an extra pair of hands to busy in-house communications professionals, and the business has worked entirely remotely from the start. She was invited to share tips and methods for effective remote working as a panellist on day one of the conference, with a focus on what the public sector can learn from the private sector.

“People sometimes wonder why I chose to set up a remote business,” says Ali, who has more than two decades of writing and communications experience. “I was motivated partly by the lifestyle I wanted to create for myself – building a business model that enabled me to work and travel at the same time, and partly by the fact that I could see so much more opportunity for a business with no ties to a physical location. For a service business like ours, a remote set-up makes a lot of sense.”

Having worked remotely since its inception, the Sorted Communications team has been able to continue to support organisations throughout the restrictions imposed during the pandemic and has also helped others with the transition to working from home.

“Working remotely has multiple benefits for clients as well as for us,” continues Ali. “I’m looking forward to sharing my experience and helping organisations who have had to make a sudden – and unplanned – move to a remote working set-up. I’m hoping those who have been finding the transition tough will leave the conference feeling more confident and comfortable about perhaps continuing to work remotely in a post-Covid-19 world.”

Sorted Communications works predominantly with the NHS and other health sector organisations providing extra capacity and support – with no commitment, no obligation and no catch. The team started 2021 on a high after completing a full rebrand from The Effective English Company and launching a brand new website.

The ‘Future of Work in the Covid-19 Era’ conference has been organised by Inside Government, which serves the public and voluntary sectors through providing public sector events, conferences, training courses and resources.

Ali will be taking part in the private sector panel session: ‘What Can We Learn from the Private Sector? – Tips and Methods for Effective Remote Working’. Tickets can be booked online at https://insidegovernment.co.uk/event/future-of-work/.
