East Midlands Businesses Invited To Free Brexit Preparation Webinar

The industry leading European road freight team at Europa Road is inviting East Midlands businesses to join its practical, free-to-attend, Brexit Preparation Webinar. With the upcoming changes to the customs process post transition period, the webinar aims to help prepare British businesses involved in import or export.

Europa recently launched its new £60m state-of-the-art site in Corby (Northants). In addition, the business has five sites across the East Midlands at Colwick Quays in Nottingham, Express Park in Rushden, Grange Park in Northampton, and Osberton near Worksop.

Hosted by Europa’s expert Brexit team, Europa Road is welcoming senior business leaders from businesses across the country to attend the webinar, which will be held online on 17 November 2020. Any businesses keen to attend can register here: https://flow.europa-worldwide.com/webinar_signup/

Those attending will be provided with no-nonsense advice on the new regulations, alongside suitable solutions, with the team on hand to answer questions, address concerns and provide guidance.

Operating the UK’s largest European groupage hub, Europa Road is part of pioneering independent logistics operator Europa Worldwide Group.

Europa Road’s network of 13 UK branches trunk into Europa’s Dartford 1Hub, where freight connects with daily, direct services to 30 continental hubs. Each month Europa transports over 45,000 consignments through its road network, making over 2,000 collections and deliveries every day.

The Europa panel will be joined by newly appointed, Head of Customs, Lieven Hendrickx, hired to lead the multi-country Customs Operation, as part of Europa’s plans to tackle Brexit. Hendrickx has an impressive 30-year track record, having worked with leading logistics operators across continental Europe as well as in the Middle East.

Sales and Branch Network Director at Europa, Dionne Redpath, comments:

“The Brexit transition period is quickly coming to an end. Soon all goods travelling between the UK and the EU will need to go through a customs process, whether there is a trade deal or not. As a leading logistics provider, our team has spent the last two years looking at every scenario to find innovative, slick solutions to simplify operations for our customers.

“Now we want to share that knowledge with businesses who perhaps feel less prepared – We know customs is bewildering and our number one priority is to cut through the complexity, making it as pain-free as possible for businesses that export or import. By providing guidance, advice and solutions, we want to give British businesses everything required for a successful start to 2021.”

The webinar follows the launch of Europa Road’s new product, Europa FLOW, a simple and effective customs process designed to preserve transit times and the flow of goods between the UK and Europe after the Brexit transition period comes to an end on 31st December. It achieves this by Europa acting as an EU Global VAT representative for its customers, zero rating EU import VAT and billing duty and fees back to the UK party.

The product is the latest in a series of investments Europa has made since the EU referendum to ensure the business and its customers are ready. Last year, Europa invested in becoming AEO Accredited, spent over £2m in its Dartford transit warehouse to increase racking capacity by 75 per cent, as well as spending a further £2m on IT. It has also supported customers by providing Brexit face to face workshops across the UK last year.

Europa Worldwide Group has six divisions – Europa Road, Europa Air & Sea, Europa Showfreight, Europa Warehouse, Europa Contact Centre and Continental Cargo Carriers and has featured in The Sunday Times Top Track 250 for two years running. Europa recently revealed its results for year-ending 31st December 2019, showing another 16.5% growth with a record turnover of £205million.
