Chesterfield law firm Spencers Solicitors adds commercial law offering

If it’s true that most solicitors’ firms have decided to see 2020 as a year of consolidation at best, then it would appear that no-one has told Spencers Solicitors!

The multi-disciplined East Midlands law firm has added a further string to its’ already extensive bow, by joining forces with accomplished Company and Commercial Solicitor, Louise Finlayson.

Louise has close to thirty years post qualification experience as a solicitor. As well as heading up the Commercial Law department at a major, national law firm for over ten years, she has also worked as an in-house Counsel for one of the UK’s leading insurance companies. More recently she has been a consultant solicitor with global solicitors, Fieldfisher LLP.

Louise arrival at Spencers means that the firm can now offer expert legal advice to businesses on a full range of commercial contracts. Her expertise also extends into the corporate law sphere, including the buying and selling of company shares or assets, heads of terms, non-disclosure agreements and arrangements between shareholders.

Spencers CEO is Robert Landman, and he believes that the addition of a specialist commercial law offering, will dovetail perfectly with some of the existing areas of law in which Spencers already specialise:

“Although historically at Spencers we have been lauded for our serious personal injury, medical negligence and employment law expertise, this is a timely reminder as to how successful our existing business services department has become in recent years.

"We already offer a full range of HR and corporate debt recovery services to businesses of all sizes. In joining forces with such a strong Corporate and Commercial lawyer as Louise Finlayson, we are now able to provide a comprehensive all-round offering to business and commercial clients.

"We are very fortunate to have been able to link up with Louise, and we look forward to working with her to the benefit of the business community, not just here in Derbyshire but from all over the country, too.”
