Star Trust tips £500,000 mark for 44 E Mids charities

EAST MIDLANDS-based Star Trust is celebrating after smashing its target of donating £500,000 to local charities.

Having raised £20,000 at its most recent event, Star Trust has now reached its target of half million pounds and is now able to support four more local charities - bringing the total of needy East Midlands organisations it supports to an amazing 44.

Star Trust held its first event of the year Sparkles and Supercars at Porsche Nottingham – with 100 guests being entertained for the evening by a magician and live band. The event was supported by generous sponsors Porsche, Chopard and Berrys Jewellers.

Steve Hampson, chairman and co-founder said:

“This event was truly fantastic and it was great to see our guests really enjoy themselves at this prestigious venue. We were keen to hold the event at Porsche and it turned out just how we wanted. The entertainment was also superb and seemed to really impress and wow our guests which was good to see.”

The charities benefiting from the event are: Reality Youth Project, Think Children, The Bridge Homelessness and the Belvoir Trust.

Steve added:

“It is brilliant when people come together for charity and help to make a difference. We are really appreciative of our partners in Porsche Nottingham, Chopard and Berrys jewellers Nottingham, who made a significant push in helping us carry out the event. We are delighted by this and it is terrific to see the enthusiasm shown.”

The charity was established in 2013 by a group of local successful entrepreneurs and has raised a total of £505,000. Every year the charity aims to donate at least £100,000 to help charities most in need.

Charities across the region apply to Star Trust for support and the team of business people behind the Star Trust hold three big annual events to help raise much-needed funds.

Star Trust has supported many charities in recent years. These include Steps, PASIC, Forever Stars, Emmanuel House, The Child Bereavement Centre and more. Star Trust is always looking at new potential charities to donate to.

The second event on 9 May will be the Supercar Driving Day hosted at the Aston Martin factory and will be fast paced right the way through. Participants on the day will be able to get behind the wheel of an Aston Martin and find out more about the brand. All the money made on the day will go to support other East Midlands charities.
