Marketplace lender appoints new Relationship Director in the Midlands

Assetz Capital has appointed Paul King as Relationship Director as it looks to support more business owners and housebuilders across the Midlands.

Paul has over 35 years’ experience in the finance and property sector developing an extensive amount of local contact and knowledge. He had worked for himself through his own financial and general consultancy business before joining Assetz. Prior to this, Paul held senior positions at the Birmingham offices of both RBS and JLL Debt Advisory.

In his new position at Assetz Capital, Paul will work with brokers and intermediaries across the Midlands to provide property developers and business owners with commercial mortgages, bridging loans, property investment finance and specifically development finance where Paul has extensive experience.

Since establishing in 2013, Assetz Capital has lent more than £910m to UK SMEs, funding projects such as commercial properties, housing developments, care homes and purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA). In the last year, the marketplace lender has funded new housing projects representing the equivalent of 1 in every 100 new homes built.

On his appointment, Paul said:

“The Midlands is home to a vast number of businesses and has long been considered as the engine of the UK economy. It is important that lenders like Assetz continue to support the UK regions to ensure that there is a breadth of financial products available that can help bring about growth and boost the country’s economy. With that said, I am delighted to be joining the team in the Midlands and I’m looking forward to meeting with intermediaries and business owners to help them realise their ambitions.”
