Lincoln electricity firm surges ahead with HSBC boost

Brook & Mayo, a leading electrical and maintenance contractor in Lincoln, has secured a six-figure commercial mortgage from its long-term banking partner, HSBC, to purchase its first premises since it was established in 1969.

The deal has helped the company relocate its 60-strong team from 2,500 sq ft of rented office space in North Hykeham, which it had long outgrown, to a new 4,520 sq ft unit at Deepdale Enterprise Park in Nettleham.

As well as securing the long-term future of the business, the new premises will allow Brook & Mayo to continue to grow organically. This will mean bringing previously outsourced services in-house, saving the company both time and money. These services include plumbing, maintenance, electrical design, air conditioning and data cabling.

Nick Mayo, Managing Director of Brook & Mayo, said:

“This is the first premises we have purchased in our 49-year history and it is a huge step forward for the business. There is a noticeable size difference in our new home, everyone at the company has settled in and are starting to benefit from the extra space.  We are really pleased with how the whole process has been managed and our Relationship Manager at HSBC, Ian Green, showed his support throughout the deal, which made it feel like a seamless transition”.

Steve Evans, HSBC’s Area Director for Business Banking in Lincoln, said:

“Brook & Mayo is a great example of a local business which has lots of drive to succeed. Our Business Banking specialists are committed to helping British businesses like this one realise their ambitions and we look forward to continuing our long-term relationship with Nick and his team as they look to grow.”

Brook & Mayo has been a customer of HSBC since it was established in 1969.
