Heathcotes Group sponsors The Transition Event

Chesterfield-based care provider, Heathcotes Group, is sponsoring an exhibition and conference which aims to help build a bright future for young people with disabilities or additional needs.

The company is one of a range of experts appearing at The Transition Event, taking place at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena on 17 May. The event will address the various challenges involved in planning adult life for a child with a disability: finding suitable education and employment, helping them to live independently and ensuring their care plan transfers when they reach 18. The programme features up to 50 exhibitors with a full day of conference and interactive workshops covering all the main ‘transition’ topics, including education, health and care plans, social services, employment and housing. Specialising in person-centred residential care for people with learning disabilities and mental illness, Heathcotes Group will join a variety of organisations available to answer questions and give visitors vital information to take away.

Heathcotes Head of Commissioning, Natalia Lysiuk said:

“The Transition Event will focus on enabling people to progress to a more independent life and that outcome is fundamental to what we do at Heathcotes – it’s one of the Group’s core aims and we see ourselves as a stepping stone for our service users. We will soon be opening our first residential care service for children to complement our adult services, providing a full care pathway into adulthood, so we are very excited to sponsor this year’s conference and play a part in the day.

“The event is designed to provide the ultimate one-day guide for practitioners, parents and young people. Heathcotes’ commissioning team is looking forward to sharing knowledge and ideas with other experts and speaking to attendees about helping young people to achieve and enjoy a fulfilling future.”

Heathcotes Group has over 60 specialist services across the UK and has been a trusted partner to over 50 local authorities and Clinical Commissioning Groups since 2004. Last year the company helped a total of 25 service users to achieve a transition into more independent living.
