Award-winning cosmetics company Divine Box launches new gift range just for dogs!

The owner of an award-winning cosmetics company has combined two of her favourite things with the launch of her new business venture.

Danielle Dunn left her fulltime job as a trainer in the care industry just days before the UK went into a national lockdown due to Covid, putting all her efforts into fledgling company Divine Box.

And after winning awards for her handmade bath bombs, gaining celebrity customers and thousands of followers on social media, Danielle is branching out to sell gift boxes and cosmetics for dogs called Divine Doggy Box.

“They say you should follow your dreams and I can’t believe that, after the success of Divine Box, I’m now launching my second business. It’s really exciting,” said the 35-year-old, from Swadlincote.

“At the height of Divine Box’s success, we were selling more than 2,000 products a day. We had to take on more staff to keep up with demand and the hours my partner John Hough and I put into the business were crazy.

“It was worth it, though; at the National Business Women’s Awards last year, I won the gold in the Business Hero category.

“It was incredible to get formal recognition for Divine Box, a real honour, and although Divine Box is going from strength-to-strength, we thought that we’d diversify and try something new.

“We have three dogs at home – with Stella set to give birth any day soon – and so a range of gift boxes for our pooches made sense.

“They had been road-testing the products for us and it’s been all positive feedback so far!”

The number of households in the UK who own a dog increased by 10% during 2021, with more than 33% owning a pooch.

And, according to market research company Statista, we spend an average of £8m a year on our furry friends and pet-related products.

Prices for a Divine Doggy Box start at £9.99 for Dog Treat & Pamper Box, which includes a dog toy, one packet of dog-safe chocolates made by Burton-based Waggy Deli, four chicken feet, eight sausages and a bottle of dog perfume created by Danielle in her Derbyshire workshop.

“The early response to Divine Doggy Box has been incredible,” said Danielle, “we’ve had so much support and enquiries for our products around the world.

“Each box is lovingly put together, choosing only the best doggy-related products. We source products that are close to home in a bid to reduce our carbon footprint and, where we can, we aim to work with and support fellow small businesses.

“Our Woof You box has been the biggest seller so far, with almost 100 orders placed in less than a week. It’s really in demand!

“I’m excited to see just how far we can take Divine Doggy Box.”
