Notts fitness fanatics impress studio staff: huge targets smashed since opening

ORANGETHEORY Fitness, based on Castle Bridge Road, is proving popular and has already signed up over 200 new members since its soft launch in June.

  • Over 200 earlybird ‘founding members’ have joined Orangetheory Fitness since June
  • Over 200,000 calories have been burnt collectively across 345 classes
  • Over 96,700 ‘Splat Points’ have been earned, as members reap the benefits of the heart rate-based programme
  • The Pythian Club Young Leaders cut the ribbon at the studio’s grand opening party to celebrate the success

The studio’s high-intensity interval training (HIIT) classes feature both cardiovascular and strength training. Collectively, members have burnt 2,438,778 calories already.

Each session is focused coaching members through the five heart rate zones, each class varying in intensity and focus between endurance, power, and strength for a full body workout. Participants are encouraged to spend just 12-20 minutes with their heart rate elevated in “The Orange” zone to boost their metabolism. To date, members have earned 96,711 Splat Points, which is the equivalent minutes spent in the Orange (84%+ Max HR) and red (91%+ Max HR) zones.

Studio Manager, Alistair Hinchliffe said,

“The Orangetheory workout originated in America with over 1200 studios now open worldwide, but its presence in the UK is still fairly new. Following the successful launch of the Derby studio, it’s so exciting to see people’s enthusiasm continue for our new Nottingham venue. We can’t wait to introduce even more people to this game changing workout.”

The community-focussed boutique fitness franchise welcomed founding members and guests to its new Nottingham studio, for an evening of music, drinks, and dancing to celebrate its offical launch.

Local vendors turned the studio into a vibrant party venue for the grand opening party. Attractions included a photo booth from Bliss Booth, while guests of all ages enjoyed Beauty or the Beast Face Painting. To accompany the music from DJ Ryan Sargent, mobile bar Little Box Company created a special Orangetheory themed cocktail for the night, poured in the trademark brand colours.

At the party, coaches and investors were joined by Young Leaders from The Pythian Club - a local youth support organisation running programmes in sports, music and art -  Dawid Janci, Norbert Kruszynski, Jordan Jaskowiak. Hermon Kubrom, also a Young Leader, cut the ribbon to officially open the studio.

Alistair continued,

“We pride ourselves on our fitness sessions - there really is no workout like it. But our other main focus is our community and creating a close-knit sense of family and friendship across all our studios. Over the course of just two months, we've welcomed some really fantastic members and our grand opening party was a great opportunity to connect with them, away from the machines and introduce more people to our wonderful studio.

“I’d like to extend my thanks to The Pythian Club Young Leaders. The team does such excellent work for the local community in Nottingham while keeping people active and healthy. And, of course, to all of the small businesses who helped make our launch an evening to remember.”

The studio is open seven days a week from 5.30am - 9pm, with prices starting from £59. For more information on Orangetheory Fitness, visit www.otfnottingham.co.uk or follow @otfnottingham on Facebook/Instagram.
