Central Foods takes on distribution of Frank Dale products

One of the UK’s leading frozen food distributors, Central Foods, has taken over the distribution of the premium buffet food brand Frank Dale.

The company will handle distribution to the foodservice sector of the full range of sweet and savoury products made by the party food specialist, which will complement the buffet options already offered by Central Foods.

Frank Dale is especially known for its delicious range of Mini Quiches and classic British miniatures such as Mini Yorkshire Puddings with beef and horseradish, Mini Pies and Mini Fish & Chip Bites.

Its popular sweet party food includes Mini Victoria Sponges and Mini Black Forests, and Strawberry and Cream Scones.

Gordon Lauder, managing director of Central Foods, said:

“We are delighted to have taken over distribution of the superb range of Frank Dale products, which will extend the selection of buffet and party food that we already supply to our foodservice customers across the UK and further afield.

“Frank Dale has a strong reputation for producing premium quality classic British miniatures, and these will complement perfectly the authentic global menu that Central Foods offers when it comes to party food.”

Edward Miles, managing director of Finedale Foods, owner of the Frank Dale brand said:

“We believe the move to Central Foods is a key step in the development of Frank Dale. By tapping into Central Foods’ proven distribution model and expertise, the service given to our existing customers will improve and open the door for new customers to stock the range, while allowing us to focus more on developing new products and marketing to drive future growth.”

Northamptonshire-based Central Foods supplies more than 400 different lines into foodservice, ranging from vegetarian and free-from items, meat products, bakery items and canapés through to buffet products, desserts and puddings. It currently sells to more than 240 independent wholesalers, as well as larger national and regional wholesalers, and foodservice caterers across the entire foodservice industry including schools, universities, pubs, bars, restaurants, hotels, leisure centres, garden centres, cafés, care homes and many other outlets.

The Frank Dale brand, which was founded in 1994, uses local, British ingredients wherever feasible, including Red Tractor British meat, British flour and British eggs. Its products are batch produced at its site in Norfolk. The company supplies a mix of branded and own-label products to the wholesale sector, as well as co-packed products to the foodservice sector.
