RED January Achievement for Digital Agency Account Manager

RED January Achievement for Digital Agency Account Manager

Repeat Digital’s Amy Jowett runs over 100 miles throughout January to fundraise for Mind as part of its RED January Campaign

An account manager for Long Eaton based PPC Agency Repeat Digital is celebrating this week after successfully achieving her goal of completing ‘RED January.’

Amy Jowett, has put her best foot forward throughout the month, running at least 5km every day as part of her ‘RED January’, the campaign set up by Mind, the leading mental health charity, which  encourages mental well-being through physical activity. Held in January each year, the month of activity is designed to help banish the post festive blues.  Fundraising is not essential, but Amy decided to seek sponsorship for her efforts in order to raise money for the charity.

Although RED stands for Run Every Day, participants in RED January can choose their favourite fitness activity and set their own goals. Amy decided to set herself the goal of completing 5km every day for the 31 days of January. Amy explains:

“I have always found running to be hugely helpful in supporting good mental health, so I decided to get my trainers on and head outdoors, setting myself a target of completing 5km per day. When I struggled with my mental health earlier in my life, running helped massively as it gave me time to myself and something to focus on which gave me the idea of making running my chosen activity for my RED January.”

Amy adds:

“The great thing about RED January is that it is free for anyone to take part and they can do as little or as much as they like. Just getting out for a walk every day is great. It’s all about finding an activity that you enjoy, and sticking with it so that both physically and mentally you will feel the benefits of regular exercise.”

Amy’s awareness of and commitment to mental health does not just stop once she has taken off her running shoes, it also extends into the workplace at Repeat Digital. She is a huge advocate for ensuring that the Repeat Digital team stay fit and healthy. This includes their mental well-being.

Repeat Digital founder and Director Olly Fisher comments:

“Amy is the driving force for health and fitness in the office and this definitely makes us better as a team. She encourages healthy eating and supports us all in getting fresh air by walking in lunch breaks to keep us all active. Given the nature of our work, we are all sat in front of computers all day, but Amy encourages us to get up and take regular computer breaks as staying active helps the brain work more effectively.

“We are all hugely proud of her efforts throughout January and I would like to say a big well done from myself and the team.”

Anyone interested in sponsoring Amy can do so via her Just Giving page – Amy-RedJanuary.
