Local firm's donation helps revamp primary school's playground in time for Spring

A £2,500 donation from Northants logistics firm The NX Group towards playground equipment for Crick Primary School has come to fruition in the form of a newly-installed climbing structure.

Neil Powell, Managing Director of The NX Group, with Headteacher Vikki Lack and School Council pupils at Crick Primary School earlier this year.

The NX Group, whose Head Office and warehouses are based at Crick and Westgate Industrial Estate, visited the school earlier this year to present Headteacher Vikki Lack and School Council representatives with a cheque donation for almost half the cost of the climbing frame.

The new equipment provides the school’s 194 pupils from Reception to Year 6, as well as Crick Pre-school, with a range of new play opportunities in a dynamic environment, with a view to encouraging outdoor learning both during and out of lessons.

Vikki Lack said:

“Improving outdoor learning forms an important part of our School Development Plan, and having a play area with high-quality equipment is key to this. We are all delighted with our new climbing structure – our children especially!

“We would like to thank The NX Group once again for their generous donation earlier this year, which went a long way towards helping us raise the amount required for the new frame.”

Neil Powell said:

“We are pleased to learn that Crick Primary School’s new climbing structure is now in place and that their play area development is complete.

“Supporting our local community here in Crick is very important to us, and we will continue to do so in whatever ways we can.”
