ActionCoach provides support to Help the Homeless

Business growth specialists from ActionCoach Leicester & Nottingham are providing mentoring and support to a local homeless organisation as part of their commitment to the charity sector.

Louise Jones and Dev Popat from ActionCoach are working in partnership with Help the Homeless Leicester as part of their Coaching for Causes initiative, which is aimed at equipping not-for-profit and charitable organisations with the skills and expertise they need to become more commercially sustainable.

As part of the support, ActionCoach will be helping the charity to raise its profile, better engage with local businesses, donors and other commercial partners, convert leads, create viable income streams from their activities, formalise its processes and network more effectively.

They will also help it to create a strategic business plan, with specific goals, objectives, deadlines and responsibilities, and build in some accountability to ensure it gets delivered.

Louise and her business partner Andrew McGunnigle founded ActionCoach Leicester & Nottingham in 2018 with the aim of working with clients to help them define and achieve their objectives and realise their full potential.

They aim to bring a fresh perspective to the organisations they work with, by combining a wealth of personal business experience with proven, world-class marketing and business development techniques to help unlock future growth.

Louise said: “Working with charitable, not-for-profit and community organisations is something we all feel really passionate about, so it’s great to be working with Help the Homeless Leicester and  lending our skills and expertise to enhance the fantastic work it is already doing in helping some of the most vulnerable people in society.

“With Government funding in decline, it’s becoming more important than ever for charities to start running more along the lines of commercial business, to ensure they can remain financially sustainable over the long term.

“Our aim is to give Help the Homeless the support they need to achieve this aim, communicate the real, emotive story behind what they do and engage with more partners from the world of business.”

Arif Voraji, founder of Help the Homeless Leicester, added: “We’re delighted to be working with ActionCoach Leicester& Nottingham and are grateful for the support we have received so far.

“Adopting a more strategic and commercial mindset is key to the sustainability of our organisation and that’s where Louise and Dev add tremendous value.”
