Northamptonshire developer raises more than £10,000 for Alzheimer's Society

Quality housebuilder Grace Homes has been fundraising the Alzheimer’s Society for over two years, holding events such as bake sales, a step challenge and a jailbreak where the Directors were locked in their offices with only a phone and tasked with raising funds to secure their release.

Despite the added challenges brought about by COVID, the local housebuilder more than doubled its original pledge, raising £10,345 in total for its chosen charity.

The Alzheimer’s Society supports those affected by dementia and ensures they are supported, accepted, and able to live in their community without fear or prejudice. Local support in the East Midlands includes a Side-by-Side service which helps people to continue to do the things they enjoy and Singing for the Brain which promotes communication through singing which can help with articulation, concentration, focus and motivation

Managing Director, Henry Barney, explained why Grace Homes chose this particular cause:

“Like many people, my family has been affected by dementia. The Alzheimer’s Society is the only dementia charity in the UK that campaigns for change; funds research to find a cure; and supports people living with this disease day to day. With so many families affected by dementia, it was an obvious cause for us to support, and I am proud of our team for raising these much-needed funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.”
