Local housebuilder helps to improve road safety in Leicestershire village

Local housebuilder, Grace Homes, recently worked with Wymondham and Edmondthorpe Parish Council to install two new vehicle activated signs (VAS), along with a power supply to be used for community events and potentially Wymondham’s Christmas lights.

Community feedback gathered during preparation of the 2017 Neighbourhood Plan highlighted concern amongst local residents about traffic volumes and speeds. Having recently built 12 new homes in this Leicestershire village, housebuilder Grace Homes contacted the Parish Councillors with an offer to help.

The installation of the new signs, paid for in part by the Grace Homes Local Foundations initiative, will help to increase road safety through the village by displaying the speed of oncoming vehicles in red if they are exceeding the limit and enable data to be gathered to inform any further highway improvements.

Daniel Browne, Land Director at Grace Homes, said -

“We recognise the importance of making sure that we support the communities in which we build our new homes, which is why we created our Local Foundations initiative. It has been our pleasure to work with Wymondham and Edmondthorpe Parish Council on this project and to strengthen and extend our links within the local community in Wymondham.”

Grace Homes is an award-winning, East Midlands-based housebuilder, currently building new homes in Hallaton, Nether Broughton and Melton Mowbray. For further details visit gracehomes.co.uk
