STUDENT VOLUNTEERING GROUP BOOSTED BY DONATION FROM AMAZON TEAM

A university volunteering group in Loughborough has received a £1,000 donation from the Amazon fulfilment centre in Kegworth.

LSU Action is the volunteering section of Loughborough Students’ Union, offering students the opportunity to join a diverse range of volunteering projects, such as helping children to improve their maths skills and running STEM workshops on campus.

Celia Syme, General Manager at Amazon in Kegworth, said:

“At Amazon, we’re passionate about children’s education, so we’re pleased to support Loughborough Students’ Union Action with this donation - they do great work with children in our community.”

Jodie Evans, Chair of LSU Action, added:

“On behalf of everyone in Action and at LSU, I want to say a huge thank you to Amazon Kegworth. Donations like this ensure we can continue to support the educational needs of children in our community!”

LSU Action received the donation as part of Amazon’s programme to support the communities in and around its operating locations across the UK.

Amazon is providing disadvantaged students with online STEM courses, as well as teaming up with charity partner Magic Breakfast, and delivering more than five million healthy breakfasts to families around the UK.
