SPECIAL NEEDS CHARITY BOOSTED BY DONATION FROM AMAZON TEAM

A Loughborough special educational needs charity has received a £1,000 donation from the Amazon fulfilment centre team in Coalville.

Steps Education Centre supports families with children who have special educational needs. It caters for young children with Cerebral Palsy, and chromosome disorders including Down Syndrome and other conditions which affect motor skills.

The donation from the Amazon team will go towards funding the daily sessions that are life changing for the children that attend the service.

Martin Cox, General Manager at Amazon in Coalville, said:

“Steps Education Centre does important work with children and their families in our community, and it’s great to support their efforts with this donation.”

Zoey Hudson, HR Manager, who nominated Steps Education Centre for donation, said:

“I’ve witnessed first-hand the fantastic work Steps Centre does and I’m really pleased that Amazon is making this donation.”

Trish Mabbott Fundraiser and Operations Manager from Steps Centre, added:

“On behalf of everyone at Steps Centre, I want to say a big thank you to Zoey and the team from Amazon. Donations like this bolster the support we provide and allow us to make a difference in our community. The staff team and families are all so very grateful for your support in enabling our work to continue.’

Steps Education Centre received the donation as part of Amazon’s programme to support the communities in and around its operating locations across the UK.

Amazon is providing disadvantaged students with online STEM courses as well as teaming up with charity partner Magic Breakfast and delivering more than five million healthy breakfasts to families around the UK.
