Birds Bakery shows its support by donating more than £3k to WellChild

Craft baker Birds Bakery has showed its support by donating £3,400 to national children’s charity WellChild

The bakery’s operations manager Karen Wain helped to raise the funds by taking part in the London Marathon earlier this month, as well as the bakery donating a portion of the proceeds from its special-edition gingerbread biscuits to the charity.

Mike Holling, sales and marketing director at Birds Bakery, said:

“We’re delighted that we’ve been able to donate £3,400 to WellChild, the much-needed funds will help them to continue caring for seriously ill children across the country.

“We’re also so proud of Karen for taking part in the London marathon to help such a worthy cause, we’d like to thank everyone who donated and purchased one of our gingerbread biscuits. We look forward to raising further funds to support WellChild in the future.”

WellChild provides care for seriously ill children and young people in the UK, making it possible for those with exceptional health needs to be cared for at home instead of in hospital.
