Nottingham Forest Official Soccer Schools return for Summer 2021

Nottingham Forest Official Soccer Schools return for Summer 2021

Nottingham Forest Community Trust has announced that its official Soccer Schools are making a long-awaited return this August following their postponement in 2020.

The Trust, which aims to engage, inspire and empower people across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire through education, events and programmes, was forced to cancel all of its Soccer Schools last year as a result of coronavirus restrictions.

However due to the gradual easing of lockdown rules throughout 2021 - especially those surrounding outdoor recreational sport - the charity is now in a position to restart its popular sessions once again this August.

All of the Trust’s Soccer Schools are officially endorsed by Nottingham Forest Football Club and each session is delivered by a qualified professional coach - giving children access to a range of activities, events and competitions, as well as a chance to get outdoors, get active and socialise with friends.

A range of dates have been confirmed throughout August across five separate locations, with an exclusive girls’ only session available on Fridays at their very own Forest Sports Zone.

Confirmed Soccer School dates for August 2021 are:

  • Mondays: 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd – The Joseph Whitaker School

  • Tuesdays : 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th – Rushcliffe School

  • Wednesdays: 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th – Newark YMCA

  • Thursdays: 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th – Carlton le Willows Academy

  • Fridays: 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th – The Forest Sports Zone (Girls only)

Cost of admission is £15 per day per child, with a 10% discount for bookings over £60 and 15% discount for bookings over £120. Sessions are open to children between the ages of 6 and 12 and run from 10am - 3pm, with a drop off available from 8:30 am each day. The format of each session is the same across every location.

Children are advised to bring their own food and drink to the sessions, as well as suitable footwear and waterproof clothing in case of rain.

Nottingham Forest Community Trust’s Head of Programmes, Declan Barker, is delighted to see the return of our Soccer Schools this Summer and can’t wait to see the sessions back underway once more.

“Over the years, the Nottingham Forest Official Soccer Schools have proven to be incredibly popular with children - giving them a chance to take part in exciting activities while keeping fit and healthy outdoors. They provide a great way of keeping active and give the kids a chance to get away from screens for a day and socialise doing something they love,”

“We’re as excited as the children for the return of the sessions,” he adds, “and we can’t wait to get going once again!”
