Sileby business raises £6,000 for Rainbows

Shoppers in Sileby have helped to raise over £6,000 for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.

Costcutter, in Barrow Road, has been raising funds for the charity, which supports more than 450 children and young people with life-limited illnesses, over the past five years.

Customers have been giving generously to the donation tins in store, and money has also been raised through the government’s single-use carrier bag charge.

Marie Greaves, Supervisor at Costcutter, said:

“Rainbows is a wonderful charity that we can support, through the help of the local community. We look forward to continuing to help such a worthy cause.”

Gary Farnfield, Rainbows Community Fundraiser, added: “We would like to thank everyone at Costcutter, and their customers, for supporting us over the years. That support enables us to continue providing vital care to the hundreds of families who rely on our charity.”
