Hospice supported by donation from Amazon team

The team from the Amazon fulfilment centre in Kegworth has donated £1,000 to a Leicestershire hospice.

LOROS Hospice works with around 2,500 families across Leicestershire and Rutland, providing compassionate care and support to terminally ill adults, their family and carers.

The hospice offers various support services including a short-stay in-patient ward for symptom management and end-of-life care, outreach support in the patient’s home, day therapy and counselling.

Commenting on the donation, Celia Syme, Site Leader at Amazon Kegworth, said:

“LOROS Hospice is a great charity that provides excellent care for people in our community. We are pleased to support the hospice and hope our donation helps the team continue its great work.”

Magdalena Korytkowska, Supporter Engagement Lead at LOROS added:

“We are passionate about the care and support we provide and it’s donations like this that help us to continue to provide our services. I’d like to say a big thank you to the Amazon team in Kegworth for this support.’’

LOROS Hospice received the donation as part of the “Amazon In The Community” programme, whereby the company supports the communities around its operating locations across the UK.

Community donations are one of a number of ways in which Amazon is supporting communities across the UK during COVID-19.

Amazon is providing disadvantaged students with online STEM courses as well as teaming up with charity partner Magic breakfast and delivering 1.4 million healthy breakfasts to families around the UK.
