£1,500 raised for Nottinghamshire Domestic Abuse Charity

Nottinghamshire Domestic Abuse Charity, Broxtowe Women’s Project (BWP), has received £1,500 thanks to the efforts of staff at national debt advice company, PayPlan.

BWP offers support for individuals directly and indirectly affected by domestic abuse, but they also work with businesses to allow their staff to understand how best to support customers suffering from domestic abuse, as well as how to cope with the emotional strain this may have.

PayPlan – based in the East Midlands - has worked closely with BWP since 2018 and the partnership has led to domestic abuse training being rolled out by BWP to PayPlan’s frontline staff. To support BWP in these challenging times, the team at PayPlan decided to raise money for the charity by holding a company-wide raffle.

A group of PayPlan’s staff sold raffle tickets for £2 each for the chance to win a £185 Harvey Nichols Hamper and £75 of Love2shop gift vouchers. £1,500 was raised in total and presented to BWP to support the work they do.

PayPlan’s Adele Matt was the lucky winner of the hamper and she commented:

“I'm really glad we have managed to raise so much for the Broxtowe Women's Project. They are an amazing charity, helping women when they really need it".

Chris Harris, Partnership Officer at BWP, said:

“The BWP team and Trustees are overwhelmed by the continued support from our friends at PayPlan. This fundraising initiative has sparked a lot of interest and the amount raised to support our families is fantastic.”
