Support For Homemoving Essential Workers In Leicestershire

A scheme designed to help Key Workers in Leicestershire looking to move home this year has been extended to include all essential workers and a range of additional benefits including £1000 to spend with local businesses.

The scheme from Mulberry Homes is designed to make moving more affordable and has been relaunched in order to help all frontline workers currently faced with the extra stress and increased workload as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.

The homebuilder is offering a financial contribution of £500 for every £20,000 spent. On a £400,000 property this could mean assistance of £10,000.

Subject to lending criteria, this could be put towards upgrades, Stamp Duty, flooring or professional fees and is available to staff from schools, hospitals, doctor’s surgeries, emergency services, local authority workers and armed forces personnel.

Essential workers include those working in health and social care, education and childcare, public services, local and national government, food and other necessary goods, public safety and national security, transport, utilities and communications and financial services as defined on the gov.uk website.

These workers will also be able to benefit from priority appointments when developments are able to reopen and a gift of £1000 to spend with local businesses of their choice to support both the essential worker and their family and the local economy.

The Mulberry Homes sales teams are working remotely and will be able to assist interested parties plan for their dream house move once lockdown is over the phone and online.
