Peveril Homes goes top of the class after making generous donation to local pre-school!

Derbyshire-based housebuilder Peveril Homes has kindly donated funds to Tutbury Preschool to help with the purchase of important school safety infrastructure.

The team at Peveril Homes recently made contact with the school after completing one of its latest developments, The Courtyard at Heritage Park, in Tutbury. The local housebuilder was eager to contribute to the local community by giving something back to some of Tutbury’s youngest residents.

The pre-school currently operates from two indoor rooms and an outdoor play area - and the money donated will go towards fencing around a new wildflower and orchard garden to further improve safety for the children when playing outside.

Under Section 106 obligations, house builders are required to contribute an amount to the local community when building a new development. The most common obligations include; Public Open Space, Affordable Housing, Education, Highways and Town Centre Improvements.

Speaking about Peveril’s ongoing work within local communities, the company’s Sales and Marketing Director Alison Kendall said,

“In addition to our statutory 106 obligations we are always keen to go above and beyond. This donation is a perfect example of the additional contributions that we like to make,”

She continues, “Pre-school is where a child’s education begins and it is important that they can learn, explore and grow in a safe environment. We are delighted that we have been able to help improve safety at Tutbury Preschool through the purchase of the new fencing and we hope the children are able to enjoy their outdoor space and the new garden even more!”

Caroline Acton, Manager at Tutbury Pre-School, is grateful for the support from Peveril Homes and recognises the ongoing commitments being made by Peveril in the local area.

“It’s fantastic for us as a charity and for our children to have the support of a company with such strong family values,” said Caroline.

“It’s often easy for pre-schools to be overlooked but it’s important to remember that we lay the foundations of a child's experience within education. Improving the safety of our children means that they can play outside freely and we can improve the quality of the education they receive in our outdoor spaces - and we have Peveril Homes to thank for that.” added Karen.
