Hinckley and Rugby Building Society staff help homeless at Christmas

Hinckley & Rugby Building Society and its staff have helped the homeless this Christmas by donating 18 starter packs to help them sleep, cook, eat in and clean their next homes.

Dozens of staff donated bedding, crockery, cutlery, toiletries and more as part of Leicestershire Cares’ 20th annual Collect for Christmas Appeal.

The starter packs will be passed on by the charity Help the Homeless to people and families to use as they move into hostels, homes and refuges.

Assistant marketing & PR manager Carla Loughrey, who co-ordinated Hinckley & Rugby’s Collect for Christmas campaign, said:

“Everyone has been so generous, and we hope the starter packs will help people and families to feel at home in their new surroundings.

“The items may seem very ordinary to people who have not faced homelessness, but they will be keeping people warm, clean and fed as they settle in. Our thanks to all colleagues who donated and to Leicestershire Cares for organising its campaign.”
