Local Dealer Goes Centre Stage with Playhouse

Nottingham Playhouse will be hitting the road in style after signing a new three year sponsorship deal with local vehicle dealer RH Commercial Vehicles (RHCV).

Nottingham’s independently owned Renault Trucks dealership, RHCV is supporting the Playhouse by supplying (and maintaining) a Renault van for its vital work in local schools and communities.

In return, RHCV will enjoy a sponsorship package that includes branding within Nottingham Playhouse publications and on site, as well as corporate entertaining at productions including the return of the Playhouse’s hit production of The Kite Runner in August 2014.  In 2013 the Nottingham Playhouse production of The Kite Runner became the theatre’s best-selling ever drama.

Formed in 1977, RHCV has 30 years’ experience of the East Midlands commercial vehicle market. The company trades across Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire.

RHCV’s Director Paul Pearson says:

“RH Commercial Vehicles is delighted to be able to support a leading cultural venue in the East Midlands and meet all of their LCV needs, especially during in this challenging time of funding for the theatre.”

The Playhouse, which celebrated its 50th anniversary last year, has created some renowned productions. Last year Oedipus, directed by Steven Berkoff, toured to the Spoleto Festival.  This month Nottingham Playhouse’s production of 1984 (a partnership with Headlong) opens at the Playhouse Theatre in London’s West End.

Nottingham Playhouse, Fundraising and Development Manager Nick Lawford adds:

“It has been a total pleasure working with the team at RH Commercial Vehicles, and this renewed sponsorship is certainly welcome with the Playhouse facing cuts. Having our own vehicle helps us take our work into the local community which is vital part of our educational programme.”

The support of local businesses is crucial to Nottingham Playhouse as it maintains and develops its groundbreaking education and community work, as well as its main stage programme. Companies entering a partnership with the Playhouse enjoy a range of benefits including marketing, branding, hospitality, staff entertainment, and corporate social responsibility, with a reach extending to over 200,000 people every year. New sponsors are always being welcomed and anyone interested in a partnership with the East Midlands’ flagship theatre should contact Nick Lawford on 0115 941 4361 or nickl@nottinghamplayhouse.co.uk
