Expanding IT firm invests in larger business park property

A growing Print and IT Managed Services provider is expanding its presence at a popular Nottinghamshire business park by investing in larger premises, thanks to a part-exchange deal with commercial property specialist Gladman Developments.

Active8 Managed Technologies will triple its accommodation footprint with the purchase of a 6,100 sq ft unit at Halifax Court on Fernwood Business Park, Newark.

Established in 2013, the firm bought a 2,250 sq ft unit at the Gladman-owned development but soon discovered it needed extra space to meet demand in the East Midlands.  The firm also has offices in London, Cambridge and Peterborough.

Based in Cheshire and founded in 1987 by David Gladman, Gladman Developments has a track record in commercial property development and, more recently, strategic land promotion across the UK.

Romy Silvers, Commercial Property Director at Gladman Developments said:

‘We believe it’s sensible to work together to make the most of opportunities when they arise. Active8 Managed Technologies are committed to the area and Halifax Court has all the ingredients they require. When they outgrew their initial unit, we were delighted to be able to offer larger premises on the same business park.’

Ross Whiting, Business Space Surveyor at Innes England who is a joint agent for the development said:

‘The success of Halifax Court is well deserved. The units are of a high quality and in a great location, just two miles south from Newark town centre, so easy to get to.

‘I fully expect any unoccupied units to be snapped up. Unit 1, which we have just bought to the market has already seen a healthy amount of interest.’

Ben Silcock, Lambert Smith Hampton, said:

‘The quality of the development means that space at Halifax Court is highly sought after and the sale of Unit 15 is further evidence of this.

‘In recent months we have also managed to conclude a number of lettings in the serviced office space at Unit 14.’

The business park is strategically located next to the A1 and its junction with the B6326. Other nearby occupiers include the Newark Advertiser.
