Colwick Hall named as a finalist for the East Midlands Chamber Business Awards

Colwick Hall has been selected as a finalist at the East Midland Chambers Business Awards. One of four companies in the region to have
been shortlisted for the 'Marketing Campaign Of The Year'.

The announcement was made by Chamber President Rob Mayo and Chief Executive Scott Knowles at the prestigious presidents summer celebration. This
occurred on the sunny afternoon of Thursday 28th June 2018 at the Portland Collection of the Harley Gallery within the Welbeck Estate.

The annual chamber business awards are a premier and prestigious accolade within the East Midlands region across the 3 cities and counties,
Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire. They celebrate excellence in business over a range of sectors and showcase awards in several fields from marketing to manufacturing, culminating in a presentation of 12 awards. The Nottinghamshire business awards ceremony, previously hosted at Colwick Hall
on several occasions with a glittering gala dinner, takes place on 14th September 2018 at 6.30pm at The Belfry, Nottingham. The Business Awards 2018 are
sponsored by Mazars LLP and many other notable organisations.

“Becoming a finalist at the Nottinghamshire Business Awards 2018 is a tremendous recognition of the efforts of our sales office and indeed the entire team of chefs to front of house and key members of our operations who have been integral to this achievement. It has been that coming together in unison and developing idea to fruition with full gusto that has been paramount in reaching greater heights” said Executive Director, Selva Muthalagappan.

“Singular focus and a real can-do approach, transforming the afternoon tea world has been a journey and experience that is simply unpararelled”added Selva.

The next stage puts Colwick Hall in contention for the chance to compete in regional and national heats of the British Chamber of Commerce Awards, if
selected as a winner, and the chamber are the only ones locally to offer this outstanding opportunity.

In talking about the campaign, Naomi Tupoulahi, Sales & Marketing Director said:

"These awards offer such a great opportunity for Colwick Hall. We have really put a huge amount of effort into developing our marketing strategies over the last 18 months, and in particular our Wizarding campaign was really something so special for the team, and a huge turning point and learning curve for the business. We fully immersed ourselves into the eyes of the customer, and developed experiences that we knew would be topical and relatable to such awide audience. The aim was to create real life magic and as a team we can proudly say this was achieved."

The campaign in itself was a record breaking success attracting some 10,000 visitors to the 'Wizarding Experience' at Colwick Hall and resulted in a two
month extension just to satisfy demand and influx for this ultimate afternoon tea experience. Selva was thrilled at every level and quickly stated,

“This was only possible due to the significant input of so many – Lee Morledge, the brain child of the menu, Naomi Tupoulahi who revealed all on social (one of the posts reaching a million views), Lauren Vickers and her Byron’s girls serving in magical capes and wands, Jason Littlewood and the kitchen brigade who tirelessly attached golden wings to make snitches (they had vivid dreams over this season!), Vikki Taylor of Untwisted Media whose energy was so infectious it resulted in a collaboration with a local business for a Halloween Grand Ball banquet dining experience with flying owls,
steaming cauldrons and an in-house potions masterclass, to Ray, Gordon, and Steve our maintenance team who turned their hands to making quirky signs, giant spiders, to peering gargoyles, and so many more of the team who played a vital role to create this journey and experience that was a super success story. We can't wait to do it all again when the Chamber Reopens in October 2018”
