Innes England is on a roll with two more East Mids Greggs stores

Leading commercial property agent Innes England has continued its successful expansion of Greggs’ East Midlands estate by securing two new food store locations.
The moves have brought new life to a former motorbike showroom in Lincoln and a recently closed post office in Sherwood, Nottingham. They follow hot on the heels of four other deals that Innes England has secured on behalf of the food retail giant in recent months.
The doors are now open at the Lincoln location in Outer Circle Road - creating 15 jobs for the area - in a 2,985 sq ft space. The 2,500 sq ft Sherwood premises, in Mansfield Road, has also created 15 jobs.
The size of the new stores reflects Greggs’ drive to create more café-style sites, with more seating as well as expanding its hot food offering.
Sam Hall, associate director and retail and roadside specialist at Innes England, explained:
“While customers will always be wanting to buy food on the move, these larger sites can also respond to changing consumer habits. They provide more space for café-style seating, giving customers the option to pause, relax and enjoy a coffee or something to eat as part of their wider shopping trip.
“These two latest sites were interesting and diverse developments, with one being a typical retail unit - demonstrating that the high street is still thriving. The other was an industrial unit that previously housed a showroom, so it’s good to see it being brought back to use.”
Gillian Long, retail operations director for Greggs, said:
“Our new shops in Lincoln and Sherwood have brought 15 new jobs each, resulting in a collective 30 new jobs for the area, as well as providing customers with a modern, convenient new place to experience their Greggs favourites.”
The recent openings follow a string of new Greggs stores across the East Midlands in which Innes England has played a key role, including a site at Chilwell Retail Park that had an extensive fit-out. Acting for Greggs on the latest long-term leases, Sam worked with Oliver Marshall at Cited Property, acting for the landlord at Sherwood, and Jasper Nilsson at Eddisons, acting for the Lincoln landlord.
Innes England continues to play an active role in supporting occupiers as they adapt to customer demands. Sam added:
