Lincolnshire language specialist to support North East businesses on Singapore trade mission

A Lincolnshire-based language and intercultural communications specialist has been invited to help North East businesses prepare for a trade mission to Singapore this November.
PAB Languages Centre will provide practical language and intercultural communication briefings for businesses taking part in the North East Chamber of Commerce mission, which runs from 22nd to 28th November.
The mission, being delivered in partnership with the British Chamber of Commerce Singapore, is designed to help North East businesses explore opportunities in one of Asia’s most dynamic markets, with applications open until 25 September.
PAB’s support will focus on helping delegates understand the cultural expectations, communication styles and business etiquette that can play a crucial role in building successful international relationships.

“For us, international trade has never been just about speaking another language. It’s about understanding people.
“Businesses can do all the right research before entering a new market. They can understand the commercial opportunity, know their numbers and have a fantastic product or service, but ultimately they still have to sit down and build relationships with people.
“That is where cultural understanding really matters. Something that feels perfectly normal in one business culture can be interpreted very differently in another.
“The aim is not to give businesses a long list of dos and don’ts. It is to give them the confidence and awareness to communicate effectively, avoid unnecessary misunderstandings and build stronger relationships from the outset.”
PAB has extensive experience supporting organisations involved in international trade and official overseas delegations.
The Lincolnshire-based company has previously prepared UK hosts ahead of a delegation from Osaka, Japan, to Bolton, as well as supporting official delegations from Hunan Province, China, during visits to Lincolnshire, providing intercultural briefings and Mandarin interpreters.
Singapore is home to around six million people and is a major international business hub, providing access to the wider ASEAN market of more than 680 million consumers.
Iwona will also be sharing practical insights into how communication, culture and human connection can influence international trade at the forthcoming International Trade Talks Breakfast organised by Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce.
The North East Chamber of Commerce Singapore trade mission takes place from 22 to 28 November 2026, including travel, with the deadline for businesses to sign up on 25 September.
