Mansfield-based Overton Electrical Services completes advanced fire alarm installation at Dovecote Park

Mansfield-based Overton Electrical Services has completed the installation of a new fire alarm system at Dovecote Park in Clipstone, Mansfield helping to ensure the site's office and employee areas meet the latest fire safety regulations while providing a robust platform for future expansion.
The project involved the complete replacement of the site's existing fire alarm system, including new cabling, detection devices and a fully compliant system design. An intrusive survey of the building was undertaken to assess the facility's requirements and secure a solution that meets current fire safety standards.
Designed to achieve an L2 category fire detection system, the installation provides a high level of life safety protection by delivering early warning in the event of a fire. The system includes enhanced detection across escape routes, rooms leading onto escape routes, high-risk areas and the extensive roof voids created by the building's industrial design.
The new fire alarm panel has also been selected with future expansion in mind, enabling additional devices and systems to be integrated as the site continues to develop.
Overton Electrical Services is already working with Dovecote Park on the next phase of the site's fire safety strategy, having submitted proposals for the installation of an aspirating fire detection system within the livestock area before the building becomes fully operational.
The specialist system has been designed to meet the unique regulatory requirements of livestock processing environments, where alternative fire warning methods such as visual beacons are required to avoid causing unnecessary distress to animals while ensuring employee safety.
